An 8-month old baby girl is dead after being attacked by a family pit bull, police confirmed Wednesday afternoon. The baby was under the care of her grandmother at the time of the attack. There were three dogs in the family’s home — all related. The attacker was a male pit bull, 3 to 4 years old and had been raised by the family since it was a puppy, Miramar Police Officer Yessenia Diaz said. The other two were its sibling and their mother, both pit bulls. – DogsBite.org
Brenda Villasin, the child’s mother, said: “She was the best thing to ever happen to me. We smiled every morning. She was my world.” The attack occurred at her grandmother’s home in the 2400 block of Kingston Drive. Villasin said she drops her daughter off at the grandmother’s home every day so she can go to work, but never did she think anything like this would ever happen. – Local 10 News
